The birth of anabaptism
This day in Christian History:
January 21, 1525: Conrad Grebel (Ulrich Zwingli's former protege) rebaptizes George Blaurock, a former monk, in a secret, illegal meeting of six men in Zurich. This meeting is now considered the birth of the Anabaptist movement.
Our congregation is part of a very large family of Anabaptist churches around the world. Most are in the southern hemisphere. Tomorrow marks World Fellowship Sunday, where we celebrate our common faith heritage in the Mennonite World Conference family. We will be showing a short video about MWC. Each Sunday we gather to worship is a foretaste of Revelation 5:11-14.
